I`m very sure teams like Novacaine and Magnums will be in the A league playoffs, but this is one of the hardest division to play in this season and I wouldn`t be surprised if they get knock down to B. All six teams are good and it`s hard enough to get a clear picture of who`s going to be in A or B... it`s going to be a hard battle.

Agree with Cube and Will that was a horrible analysis of the West.

Novacaine - they will DEFINITELY be in the A playoffs. Their only loss so far was against Magnums. That game was a tale of two halves and they actually had a chance to complete the comeback. They do have a tough schedule but they will beat the Union this week (sorry Union but you`re not as good as your record shows) and they will beat Collision in the final week. That leaves two tough games between Wolves and Badboyz. Both teams will make sure they have everyone there against novacaine and I say Novacaine splits those two games so they finish 8-2 on the season.

Magnums - they were without their starting QB the last two weeks and it showed. I`ve gotta believe that their loss to Union was a direct result of this. I mean to give up 5 INTs in one game (one of them being for a TD) and still only lose 10-7. Either way a loss is a loss when it goes to the books but I don`t see this team falling out of the A Playoffs. They have 2 cupcake games against the last 2 teams in the West and then have two big games against Bad Boyz and Chaos (both fighting for A playoffs). At worst I think the Magnums split those games and finish 8-2.

Union - This team has a nice record at this point (4-1) but with only 1 quality win it`s hard to take this team seriously. See previous paragraph about that quality win. I think they can still snag the last playoff spot in A but it`s not gonna be easy. Two losses will most likely put them in a tie with Chaos at the end of the season and Chaos has the advantage in head-to-head. Novacaine, Collision, and Greyhounds will be tough games and I could see them dropping 2 of those three games. They should beat Ether and Hokies. That leaves them at 7-3.

Bad Boyz - might have the most talent in the West but that`s if they get everyone to show up. Two out of their three remaining games are against tough opponents (magnums and novacaine) so I wouldn`t be surprised to see them split those games and finish 6-2-2. That will put them with the same winning % as Union but they should have a better point differential and will grab the 3rd seed in the West.

Chaos - Now here`s where it gets interesting. This team should be able to rattle off 3 straight wins leading up to the season finale vs. the Magnums. I think they drop the game vs. the Magnums but with a 7-3 finish I expect them to be tied with Union and get the 4th spot based off the head-to-head with Union.

Collision - This team will need to win out the rest of their games in order to make the A playoffs. That tie with BadBoyz hurts them if they drop any more games this season. I think Collision should win against Bootleggers and Ether. They will play close against Union but even if they pull a W there, I don`t see them beating Novacaine.

In summary I think you have the final standings looking like this:

1) Magnums (if tiebreaker is head-to-head)
2) Novacaine (if tie breaker is point differential then Novacaine jumps to #1)
3) Bad Boyz
4) Chaos

WUZ UP WITH SOME EAST analysis

Good analysis. It`s so hard to tell. I mean All these teams really only have 1 quality win:

Mags beat Novacaine
Novacaine beat Chaos
Chaos beat Union
Union beat Magnums
Badboyz beat Chaos

It makes no sense really, but you factor in things like Mags not having their QB, Badboyz losing to The Bootleggers (honestly? THE F***ING BOOTLEGGERS?) and some teams progressing more than others as the season continues, its still a toss up. We`ll get a better idea in about 2 weeks.

I hear your point about the quality wins. I think you also have to look at the recent history for some of these teams as well as actually watching the games. I`ve seen Mags, Novacaine, Badboyz, Union at their best. And when they all bring their best I think the first three are legit A teams while Union will be battling with Chaos for that final spot. I`m thinking with the season coming down to a close, most of these teams will have their best out there - especially since they are fighting for A playoffs.

TC - Obvious A playoff team. They`ve played two close games this season (rejects and wolves) which should tell you based on ability who else should be in the A playoffs. They should destroy lunatics and shockers. They should beat greyhounds with minimal effort and the real toss up game is against 7pt spread. I`m gonna say TC wins that because 7pt spread hasn`t really faced a team like TC yet. Finish 10-0.

7pts Spread - the newbies have been a nice surprise to the league that has begging for some added A League competition. This team would be undefeated and battling TC for the #1 spot if they didn`t allow Badboyz to come back and tie the game. This team needs to protect the ball better, especially in the redzone when it faces the good teams as the season ends. They will beat public option and cougars and still have two very tough battles against TC and Wolves. I think they lose a close one to TC and win a close one against the Wolves.

Greyhounds - This team has battled back after a rough start. They are still working things out without their normal squad. They have a very tough end to the schedule and I expect this to derail their chances of making the A League Playoffs. They will finish 2-2 to close out the season which will give them a 6-4 record. Not good enough for A League, but will most likely reach the finals in B+ playoffs.

Wolves - This team is tough to gauge. They`ve played some close games but getting enough players for weeknight has always been a challenge. Combine that with a few injuries and you can understand what happened last week against CCR. That should be enough to humble this team and get the commitment they need to close out the season. With 2 losses they are on the verge of missing the A Playoffs. The road is not easy with games agains Novacaine, Greyhounds, and 7pt Spread. I think they beat greyhounds and possibly split the novacain/7pt spread games. That puts them at 7-3 on the year - just enough to make the A playoffs.

Rejects - Probably the toughest schedule to start the season out of any team. All three of their losses were by 1 score against the top of the East. Every other game has been a shut out victory by 4 or 5 scores. They have an easier finish to the season than most teams and should come away with 3 wins to close the season at 7-3. This will be enough to lock up the 4th seed.

CCR - a veteran team that had a lot of success a few years back but seems to have fallen to B+ level in recent years. Their surprise crushing victory of the Wolves has left them in the A Playoffs discussion for now. They will have to win the last 3 games in order to make this a possibility but I see them losing at least 1 (greyhounds) along the way.

Final Predictions:
1) TC
2) 7Pt Spread
3) Wolves
4) Rejects

Greyhounds just miss out on the A Playoffs.

TC (1E) vs. Chaos (4W): Chaos has played well this season but TC shouldn`t have too many issues here.

7pt Spread (2E) vs. BadBoyz (3W): This is an intriguing matchup after the back and forth between Grove and Slash about "real football offense". The 7pt defense fell apart in the 2nd half when these two teams last played.

Novacaine (2W) vs. Wolves (3E): These two teams face off next week in what should be a close battle. Who wouldn`t want to see a rematch to start the playoffs?

Magnums (1W) vs. Rejects (4E): This proves that there are no easy games when we enter the A Playoffs. Rejects have played the Magnums close each time these two teams have faced. Back in 08` Magnums won by a TD (maybe Rejects should change their name to 7pts spread). This past fall, these teams played to a 17-17 tie.

I think the divisions are pretty even, TOM did a nice job setting them up. I think it also speaks volumes about our league that most people think any of the 8 A playoff teams could potentially win it all. The playing field is more level than ever, and I think it`s just because competition and teams in Fairfax are improving. Hopefully we got a lot of teams representing in states this year.
