We just played through a downpour when the game should have been called. Those turf fields handle the water well but there comes a point where being out there is just stupid.

Yeah Yeah, what was the score? I remember a time when football was played in all weather conditions. Now games get called if a say the word rain! lol!

Yes, real football games can be played in down pours but flag football games are tough because you basically throw all day long and you do not have all of the man power to keep the balls dry.

You dont think I ever threw in the rain??? How about Dave Krieg??? How about Jim Kelly and the K-Gun offense???

Throwing and catching a football during a game in rain or snow is one of the greatest things to do in the world. It takes skill, talent, and most importantly it takes heart.

The Cougars dont have any.

I have to agree with the Cougars QB. Bash me all you want, but the fact is....we all have jobs to go to the next day. The chances of getting hurt increase greatly when the field is soaked. It`s not about being tough, or crying about playing in the rain, it`s about going home to a wife and kids, and telling them you tore your ACL on a wet field.

last night was a downpour. It was fine when we started, a little rain but nothing major. About five minutes into the game it started pouring, so much so that the refs tried to shorten the second half to 18 minutes cuz they were sick of standing in the cold - but still wanted to get paid. Rain isnt that bad but it really was pouring to the point no high school game would have been played.

I have to agree with the Cougars QB also. I live in Centreville and know what it was like outside last night. No way in hell a game should have been played in that. This is flag football..not the NFL..even though some people on here think it is. It`s not a fair game for either team being played in those conditions because you can`t utilize your full strengths. The refs should have been more proactive rather than sit on their asses which I know they are known to do.

If its just a stupid flag football game to you, then quit. To me its football (flag or not) and football is the kind of sport that you play in most elements without complaining.

You Cougars are a bunch of p*ssies.

its not a stupid flag fb game to me, its one of the things i look forward to all week. and if it was raining normally i wouldnt care. but when its raining so hard that the refs are trying to shorten then game so that they can get the hell out of there the game should be rescheduled.

My son`s ankle-biters football team was practicing last night and theyre 7 and 8 years old.

Some of you all need to stick to your co-ed tee-ball leagues and leave the football to the men.

Cougars, I`m not trying to be smart but you guys may want to consider joining some local YMCA or church leagues. That way you won`t have to worry about playing in inclement weather. Heyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!

You fools puffing your chests out about flag football are sad. The downpour started after 10 o`clock, anything before that was fine to play in. But, when you need windshield wipers on your eyes, it`s kind of ridiculous. That downpour would rain out most games in any sport.

Curious??

There are so many retards on this messageboard.

The rain was heavy last night, and the games should have been called, period.

You dipshi-ts can play in the rain, get hurt, and end up on crutches for 3 months....for what? A crappy Wed. night flag football game?

Crappy Wednesday night game? Dont you know every game has playoff implications? I remember a Wed night in Oct `97 when i had 3 sacks, a TD reception, and gave some dude a bloody nose with my tenacious blocking, and you didnt hear me complaining about the rain that night.
