Good games out there tonight. CC won came back and won a close one against Entourage. I believe it was 21-14.

Really exciting game between Magnums and Grayhounds. Grayhounds scored on a hail mary the last play of the game for the tie. Ball got tipped up in the endzone and caught by grayhounds to send it to overtime. In OT Grayhounds went 4 plays and couldn`t convert. Magnums drove down and kicked a field goal for the win.

Championship was Magnums vs. CC. Magnums went up 7-0. CC tied it up and at the half it was 7-7. Magnums threw some key INT`s and CC jumped up to 21-7. Magnums fought back and scored w/ 2 minutes left but ran out of time and lost 21-14.

Congrats to CC on the championship

great game to both teams. entourage exploited the middle of CC`s defense in the beginning, but CC adjusted in the second half with two key INTs. my mvp awards go to #3 (1TD) and #?? (dave-2TDs and a sack) on CC`s team, and #26 from entourage.

First off, I`d like to congratulate Christ Central on winning the B league championship game tonight. Correct me if I`m wrong, but they`re 2 for 2 now having won the Spring C league. You guys deserve the title.

Entourage, y`all played a great game against CC but barely came up short. Y`all should be proud because CC did end up winning it all.

Magnums, what else can I say? That was one hell of a game we played tonight. It was definitely of the most exciting games I`ve ever been a part of. I hate to see games like that end.

Grayhounds, well fellas, we ended the season with hardware. It may not have been the one we wanted, but it`s a trophy nonetheless. It was a great season guys.

Tom/Rob/Shay, thanks again for putting a another excellent season together. I know you hear gripes from people every now and then, but y`all are doing an marvelous job with league and the site. May I suggest adding stats??? I know that would be difficult, but just a suggestion.

To everyone out there that`s reading this, have safe and wonderful Thanksgiving holiday! Remember, don`t be stingy with the pumpkin pie.

Gray Hounds (2) vs. Magnums (6)

After three weeks of waiting it was finally time to get the final four played for the B League. Most people expected the teams to come out rusty after a 20 day break. The Magnums got the ball to start the game and went no huddle the entire drive as they tried to set the tone for the game. QB#2 Jim Devine did a good job of mixing it up as he found 4 different WR`s on this drive. Devine capped off the drive with a 30 yard touchdown strike to WR#9 Rob Lane. The PAT by #26 Matt Anderson was good and the Magnums took an early 7-0 lead. The Gray Hounds took over and were able to drive and get a couple of first downs before the Magnums defense stiffened and forced a turnover on downs. The Magnums again drove down but this time the Gray Hounds stepped up and held the Magnums on 4th down. As the half closed the Gray Hounds took a couple of shots deep but were unsuccessful. At the half, Magnums 7 Gray Hounds 0.

The Gray Hounds took control of the ball to start the 2nd half and put together a nice drive of short, quick passes to move the ball downfield. They capped off the drive with a 20 yard strike that went just over the hands of #2 Devine of the Magnums and tied the score up 7-7. The Magnums kept their heads up and again put together a nice drive with passes completed to #26 Matt Anderson, #81 Chris Dye, #10 Dave Craig and #4 Eric Phelps. The Magnums ate up a lot of clock and on 3rd and goal #2 Devine found G#15 Jon Rardin in the back of the endzone to put the Magnums on top 14-7 with 2 minutes left in the game. The Grayhouds put together a gutsy 2 minute drill as the Magnums defense tried to hold on. With 6 seconds left the Grayhounds were 20 yards away from the endzone. They threw up a hail mary that was batted in the air and caught by a grayhounds WR to tie the game up at 14-14 with no time left on the clock.

The Magnums won the toss for Overtime and elected to play defense first. 1st down was an incomplete pass. On 2nd down #15 Rardin and #8 Sonny Giannavola combined for a key sack. The Magnums held on 3rd down and on 4th down the Grayhounds took a shot to the endzone that was short and out of bounds. The Magnums took over 1st and goal from the 20 yard line. They completed passes on 1st and 2nd down to move down to the 10 yardline. On 3rd down #2 Devine dropped back and his knee buckled sending him down to the turf for a loss of 5 yards. He was able to get up, but was still in considerable pain. On 4th down the Magnums attempted the 32 yard field goal. #26 Matt Anderson split the uprights giving the Magnums their first ever Championship bid.

This was an unbelievable game and hats go off to the Grayhounds who never quit, even when down by 7 with under 2 minutes left in the game. They have some talented WR`s and a strong defensive line. Good job by the Magnums O-line who were able to give the QB just enough time to get the ball off. The Magnums defense registered a couple of key sacks today.

Final Score: Magnums 17 Gray Hounds 14

Championship Game Recap

Christ Central (1) vs. Magnums (6)

After two tough semi final games the Magnums and Christ Central met up in the Championship game. The Magnums coming off a thrilling Overtime win over Grayhounds, Christ Central coming off a comeback victory over Entourage. Magnums and Christ Central met the 3rd game of the season and finished that game in a 14-14 tie.

The Magnums QB #2 Jim Devine battled the entire game with a knee injury sustained on the 2nd to last play of the semifinal game. The Magnums got the ball to start the game and drove down the field on the Christ Central defense with quick passes from #2 Devine to WR#9 Rob Lane, WR#26 Matt Anderson and C#51 Nick. The Magnums got down to the 1 yard line and QB#2 Devine capped off the 13 minute drive with a QB draw up the middle. The Magnums missed the extra point, but CC was offsides so the PAT was re-kicked. This time #26 Anderson made the kick giving the Magnums a 7-0 lead. CC got the ball and on their first drive they looked to scramble on a couple of plays and they also hit the quick slants and outs to drive down the field. They finished off the drive with a TD pass to the corner of the endzone to tie the game at 7-7. The Magnums again drove down the field but they were held to 4th down at the CC 30 yardline. Magnums went for the first down but the pass was picked off. CC had the ball with just under 2 minutes remaining in the half. They attempted to hit some big plays, but the Magnums defense was able to hold as the half ended 7-7.

CC got the ball to start the second half and again they found success with the QB scramble as they drove down the field. The drive was capped off with a TD to #5 in the back of the endzone and CC took the lead 14-7. On the ensuing possession, the Magnums thew and interception which gave CC great field position. They capitalized on the turnover and found the endzone again putting them up 21-14. The Magnums continued to fight as they got the ball back with 8 minutes left in the game. They were forced to go no huddle the entire drive and eventually found the endzone on 4th and goal when QB#2 Devine scrambled and found C#51 Nick for the 10yd touchdown to put the score 21-14 in favor of CC with 2 minutes left in the game. The Magnums failed on the onside kick and CC was able to run the clock out.

Congratulations to Christ Central on the undefeated season and the Championship. They were able to capitalize on some miscues by the Magnums.

Good job by the Magnums d-line as they tried their best to contain the CC QB. #1 Paul Fernandes had a good game on the line.

To the Magnums players, good job this season. This was our best season so far and we really fought hard. We got off to a rough start but really turned the season around beating some good teams in the playoffs. We beat the #3 seed, the #2 seed, but just came up a little short on the #1 seed. Look forward to next season.

Final Score: Christ Central 21 Magnums 14
