So the winner of the Going Deep/Larry`s game plays 15 mins later the same day against the winner of Web Construction and who ever won between Scubs and Vienna Inn? (Who were resting for 1hr and 15 mins) Thats crap! Talk about a advantage in the CHAMPIONSHIP GAME. Maybe a regular season game but the CHAMPIONSHIP? How many rainouts were there this year? Is there no further field time for this season. If so what happens if it rains the 9th?

It`s that way for each League (A, B+, B, C). Whoever wins that first game has a distinct advantage because they can rest a bit, and focus on the teams playing right before they play the winner. But I`m sure there is no other way to handle this.

Here`s a research project for you both:
  • go to the IFFL Spring League site: http://spring.iffl.us
  • click standings and schedules
  • start in 1994, click schedule and look at the final 3 games (done the same way as next week`s schedule)
  • note the semifinal gametime placement of the team who won the championship relative to the team that did not.
  • once you`ve got the list compiled of how many teams with the second game and a 15/30 min break won it vs teams with a 75/90 min break post the results here.
  • If the second game semifinal winner is clearly at a disadvantage I will re-adjust the schedule.

P.S. if Webb Construction does the research exercise and then wants to change their slot...let me know!

    Honestly

I think is a disadvantage for the team that has to sit for an hour and a half. I hope its really cold so you get to sit there and freeze to death and then try and restretch. Advantage, webb/GD.

I think if we took a poll at the beginning of the season from every team the censuses would be to change the schedule. Maybe something to thank about moving forward for future seasons.

boy, you guys just love to bi*ch and moan about every little thing in this league. I would MUCH rather play right after my semifinal game than sit around for another hour in the freezing cold letting my body cool down. The FCFFL games go by so fast that you shouldn`t be that tired after a game if you`re a real athlete (even if you bust your ass and play both ways). The commishes do an amazing job running this league and don`t deserve petty complaints like this wasting their time. They`ve done it this way for years, and its worked out perfectly...just shut the hell up.

So if that`s not a veteran player I dont know what is. 2nd there was never a knock on the Commish intended. Blogs/Message boards are posted to communicate, make suggestions incite rivals etc. So for "Typical & Veteran Player" Which is probably the same person please continue jacking of to under age porn you B*8ch! Im done talking hopefully the commishe(s) take note to this suggestion for future reference. That was all that was every intended by this post. Thanks Tom for your timely replies.

    Here is the math

Tom - I dont believe you ever have to defend yourself to anyone on these boards. Having been around these leagues for a long time, it is obvious to me that everything evens out in the end. However, just to complete the math exercise (and prove Tom`s point) - here is the data:

Since 94 - Early team won 4 times; Late team won 6 times and there were 3 times the semis were played at the same time (13 in total).

FWIW - I have found that sitting around and waiting for the next game is more of a detriment. Most of the players I know would rather keep the juices flowing.

    No doubt...

Sitting around is much harder...thats why there are exercise bikes on the sidelines in the NFL. Either way, its not worth fussing over.

Thanks for the offer Tom, but I`m sure I speak for my entire team when I say that we`ll play whenever (if Webb thinks differently, I`m sure he`ll contact you). I spoke with you about the playoff schedule last night before our game. We realize how difficult it is to get fields. Great job with the league this year.

I think the point was that players stay loose with the exercise bikes, ie: stopping is harder than keeping going.
    Whatever...this is stupid.

i see both sides, i would rather play right after one another. By then if your team is not in sync then you dont deserve to win anyhow

I am definitely one of the older players in the league and back to back games are fine with me. In fact I can`t to return to states and play another 5 games in 2 days!!
