Is Cooley really this soft that he couldn`t cut it a real flag league? He should give Macho a call and see what`s really up. *sigh* FXA is for pussies.

I played with Cooley in that game and to answer your question he only came out to play because his cousin and family friend play on our team. I told him about Fairfax and he said maybe next spring.

Although he never had the pro career Colley is having, I hear Sean Glennon (ex-VA Tech QB) is playing on a team in the Arlington league.

The league is pretty competitive, big separation from the top 4 or so teams in the A from the bottom. Not nearly as competitive as this A league.

FXA is a joke. The squad Cooley sponsors is terrible.

Back to Cooley, do you think he would be playing in a flag league if there was no lockout? I know the chances of him getting hurt are minimal, but Steve Smith of the Panthers did break his arm playing in a flag league in Charlotte

Surprised he`s playing even in a lockout situation. Honestly, I`m surprised that it`s not a violation of his contract terms.

Gang Green is correct, look at the dude from the Ravens who is boxing. What would you rather have you guy playing flag football or getting his face smashed in.

@GG - You are correct sir, but as a player (and as an agent) I believe that you have to make the assumption that once the lockout ends, you`re contract will still be viable, and would steer clear of anything that can cause injury. They may not be able to ding Cooley over playing flag during a lockout under a dangerous activities clause, but I would think as a world class athlete who financial well being relies on his health that he wouldn`t take that risk.

is a casual league. It`s not a competitive league like FCFFL or IFFL.

The guy is also pretty shady. He`s pulled some underhanded tricks in the past to try and steal teams from the IFFL and FCFFL as well as other sports leagues in the area.

So why did someone delete the FXA response? So its ok to talk shhhhit about the league but not give it credit where its due?

This is the FCFFL board, not a board for other leagues to market themselves.

steal teams from IFFL and FCFFL? please explain more on this.

They tried to register their league as a member of the VFFA, without talking with either FCFFL or the IFFL, with the intent of bringing teams into their league from ours by saying you can still earn state bids, etc, etc.

Also, don`t forget FXA is a for-profit organization. Tom and Shay don`t make much, if any money for running these leagues. I don`t blame anyone for trying to turn a buck, but our guys do this because it`s what they love. FXA does it to make money.

thanks

I see where it says that now. That was not my understanding. I had to have some dealings with them when I served on a local adult softball league board that is also non-profit, and at the time I was told they were a for profit organization.

And FYI, non-profit/for-profit doesn`t influence field assignments to the best of my understanding. I would assume that since they are a much LARGER organization as a whole they get more fields.

Note

They also take field ALL over fairfax county, they don`t limit to the Chantilly, Reston, Herndon, Centreville area. Tom probably could easy get another field if he were willing to go into some of the those deeper Fairfax County areas: Springfield, Burke, Fairfax, Lorton, Rte 1 Alexandria, Annandale, Vienna, McLean, etc..

no, turf is booked solid
