B Leaguer to A leaguer

I was just curios of what teams in "A" started in "C" league or "B" and improved as a top contender.
•Triple Crown
•Magnums
•Collision
•Wolves
•7pt Spread
•Novacaine
•Badboyz
•Sharks
•Chaos
•Rejects
•CCR Nova
•Union

What advise can a A leaguer give to teams who are trying to work their way up?
Thanks

Union

The higher you go the harder it gets. Let`s say your team does well in the Open season and your team does well against A league teams and Tom invites you to tournaments such as Bark Bowl or States. Those are even, harder than our season. It takes time and if your team looks to improve, sometimes it helps to draft new players to your roster.

Continue to add better players. learn an offensive and defensive system that works that you can stick to.

And when you continually lose in the semi`s, pluck good players away from other teams.

Difference between some of the leagues is just the organization in the offensive and defensive huddle. And athleticism.

Why doesn`t TOM invite C or B league teams to the Bark Bowls or Turkey Bowls? I understand you have to be the winner of B to head to states, but does the Nationals hold a B level contest too?

Because

A teams dont want to crush C and B teams. A teams want to play good competition. Theres no C teams that can play at that level, and I would highly doubt any B teams could too.

We played in the open division last Spring. That said, honestly it sucked. Competing against guys with similar skills and size is one thing...but stepping up to A, you better have some size and speed on the line. It`s unnecessary to remove the B league if there are enough teams and fields. Maybe there should just be an A, B and C league.

I really enjoy playing and competing but don’t unnecessarily want to put myself or any other player in harm’s way unnecessarily.

I agree w/Bootleggers on that, open in the spring is a waste for the lower level teams. You spend half your season playing games you have no legitimate shot of winning.

I don`t mind it. We weren`t prepared for open last spring. We might not do great in the open season against the A teams again, but we`ll do much better then last time. Because of the ways some of the A teams exploited us last spring, we were able to make great adjustment coming into this season, and picked up guys we knew would fill some holes for us.

If teams are looking to improve and move up then they have to be willing to hit some bumps on the way.

I don`t mind the Open format in Spring either. If you don`t go against tougher competition, you`ll never raise your game. We got worked by some A teams last Spring, kept some other games close & got a couple wins against B+/A teams. Besides, don`t the playoffs for Open get split into 3, A. B+ & B, if there are enough teams to do so?

which

Collision is the only team on that list that I know started in C. You don`t have to win B to earn a State bid, btw. Each league gets a certain number of bids, for instance Sunday Spring and Fall each got 8 bids. Those bids go to the top 8 teams, if a team doesn`t want their bid or they qualified more than once, it moves down the line. There is no B level at Nationals. You have to finish in the top 4 in A at States to earn a National bid. And honestly, from what I can tell, winning States is much harder than winning Nationals. I think of all the member states, VA is the strongest state and it`s a much bigger tournament.

difference is 60% organization, 40% skill level/athleticism. no offense to sharks, they have good athletes, but they always were the most organized and would work teams b/c of it.

The other big difference is personnel - having the right players in the right positions.

and really #1 skill - flag pulling.
