spent Memorial Day driving 5-1/2 hours in traffic to get to our playoff game only to not play. Long story short; I get to the field and unfortunately the lights are malfunctioning, but the refs get the okay form Tom to move the already in progress game (Acid Reign vs Bootleggers) and our game (Collision vs Cougars) to Greenbriar park which is 1/8" mile away from Poplar Park. The Bootleggers refuse to finish our their game which they were already down by 13 points at half and the Cougars refused to play us stating their players would get confused by the field switch.
Obviously Bootleggers had enough players but the Cougars must of been short? No! They had more players than us. So the questions is what team is more of a bunch of pansies for refusing to play?

I bet some of them didnt drive all the way out there on memorial day just to have your own coach cancel on your * and have completely no faith in playing a playable game that was reschedule 15mins prior to 9PM game. What you guys did were cowardly and definitely unsportsmanlike in my book. People have lives, and people have responsibilities. Either it be flag football or whatever, people paid for this sort of thing and also put in the time to drive to get to an event of such. There is no real legitimate excuse for you to call the game off. Its fuking 2010 and you are saying your teammates cannot pickup their cells? Our team had far less than you and we were able to use "technology" to communicate in situations like this. If you think its inapplicable to use "technology" then I hope you learn soon because playing in an adult flag football league pretty much implies you are a RESPONSIBLE ADULT. You are seriously lucky this ** didnt work against you guys and rewarded us with a forfeit. Thank you again for ruining a the leagues schedule and our Monday Night. Selfish as h3ll i swear.

;	If the first game was already going on, then obviously they should have just moved fields to finish the game. Its a cop out for Bootleggers to refuse to finish especially since they were losing. What a classless way to try to prolong the game and maybe get a chance to win. If there were enough players to play the second game for both teams, I think you stick with the schedule and play it out. Which ever team "refused" to play should be forced to forfeit, but they should have been told on the field and not givin an option. The refs should have said the game is being played at Greenbriar, if your not there, you forfeit....then I bet they would have played. The moral of the story...dont schedule games on holidays. If you do, grow a backbone and force a forfeit if the team refuses to play.

Blaming it on a confusing field switch is just lame...pick up a cell phone and call someone. By the way, at least two of your guys went to the other feild, luckily our guys informed them the rest of you didn`t want to play.

;	Agreed. Games probably should not be scheduled on Holidays, and if so, work with Tom (he is good about this). Regardless, many of my guys made the effort to return from vacations early to play the game as scheduled--when the lights did not work, the option to play/continue both games and both of these teams declined. Not only does it suck for Tom to have to juggle everything around, it sucks for the teams that were prepared to play. Both games should be a forfeit. Acid Reign would be more than happy to force a forceit rather than bring my whole team out for less than 20 mins of football at 10:05 pm on a Wednesday night for a game that was 13-0, AR to receive the second half kick and they had no more than 30 yards total offense because the regular scheduled game was not convenient enough for our opponents and their players. I am confident Collision feels the same.

;	we didnt play because we didnt know what was going on. the lights didnt come on. we sat there in the dark for 30 minutes. we didnt warm up. then the refs said we had the option of playing somewhere else or rescheduling. we chose to reschedule and come back out and do it right, not pack up our stuff and drive to a field that may or may not be in decent shape. its a playoff game, we wanted to do it right. it was a holiday weekend, our guys made sacrifices to be there as well, but at that point we chose to come back later in the week and do it the right way. these things happen. get over it. stop whining like a bunch of teenage girls who aren`t getting ponies for christmas. had you would have played and won you`d still be coming back out thursday, and had you gotten beat you`d be done already so its not that big a deal. we`ll be there thursday and we`ll be ready to play, and we`ll do it up the right way, and if you cant handle that i really couldnt care any less.

If the league would have said, the teams have to move to the other field instead of giving them the opprotunity to say no. It wouldn`t have happend. I don`t know whats going to happen in the cougars-collision game, but for the bootleggers it seems like our captain did the right thing for the team because we played much better in the second half then the first half. Acid Reign still won, congrats to them, its funny that the lights went out again on us. We did have the ball with 5 minutes left, but we got the break the first time, they got it the second time. It worked out. Anyone read how a track coach ruined a win for a high school team because one girl had a live strong bracelet on? Coach called her out because it helped his team win. Our captain saw a chance to help us regroup, so he took it. Not every team playing in this league wants to be a national champion. Its still a rec league. Get a life people. Some of you guys couldn`t play ball with my grandpa and talk crap like this is your chance to tell your kids you were a hero. If you guys are so good at football why aren`t you playing in a full padded league? Or even a league that allows down field blocking? I challenge anyone to come out and bring their football team to a league that allows down field blocking. Or stay in your pansy no contact league.
