No premier matchups tonight as teams start to either float into the top half or sink more to the bottom.

Lions/Larrys

The team speed and zone busting of the Lions is not a good match-up for the Larrys, but the Lions have not played a down in 2 weeks so that engine might be a little cold. This might stay a close game in the first half, but the Larrys will not keep up the whole game and expect the Lions to break away in the second half and put this one away 24-10.

CCR NOVAs/Lions

We could be witnessing the final nail in the coffin to the Novas season tonight and they probably sense that. Another loss here, and with Lazy Sundae, My Plumber and Sharks still on the schedule things are only heading uphill. The Lions will be warmed up and ready for this game and should jump out to an early lead. The key will be how the Novas respond. Lions will sit on the ball in the second half and I think the Novas will get away from the patience that is their hallmark while trying to salvage the season and this will be a mistake. Lions 17-7.

Kerns/Coyotes

After losing their first game Kerns has buckled down and taken care of business. This is the first in a group of 4 games that are much easier than the first 3 teams they played and they start that stretch with the team at the bottom of the barrell. The Coyotes are improving with each and every game but they are no threat to Kerns on either side of the ball at this point. Look for Kerns to force the young Coyotes into costly mistakes and capatalize with scores while their QB runs wild. Coyotes might score late in the game during garbage time, so I`ll call this 27-8 Kerns.

I have watched the LIONS over the last two or three years and don’t think that this years team looks as sharp as some of the teams I have seen them field. They seem to be missing some big time players and it shows. I don’t expect too much from this LIONS team. They are known for the great defense that they play, but the offense does not seem to have anything. Defense wins championships, but the offense has to put some points up. I can see them getting by Larry’s, but the NOVAS is a different story. I see them going 1-1 this night.

Larry`s beat NOVAS so how can the Lions get by Larry`s but not the NOVAS?? I think Larry`s will beat the Lions and Lions beat NOVA.

The Lions will lose both games. They seem to be waiting for the playoffs since so many teams get in, they are not taking the season seriously until then (just my opinion).

The NOVAs have never had a losing season. It ain`t gonna happen now. But that`s okay if you want to keep posting this idiotic stuff.

I agree if the stud Lions showed up - not many teams could even compete! But it is a fact some of them are hurt. Its only a matter of time before they are back - so enjoy your wins against this sub par lions group.

It looks like the Lions realized they needed a little more depth to win the big games, so they picked up a bunch of players. Problem is, they had a solid core of 8-10 guys, but added weaker players, so the question remains: is it better to have 10 solid players or have those players split time with fresher, but not as talented players?

I think the Lions only picked up 2 or 3 new players. I know for a fact 2 of them used to play for the NOVAs (that beast rusher #88 and a MLB). I belive they are without their top 2 guys though (#84 and #0 I think). I heard they are both out for the season with injurys. Regardless, that D of theirs should keep them in games and I`m willing to bet no one wants to see them in the playoffs (just another opinion).

Does ANYBODY post a degrading remark and use their real name? To say the Lions and Novas are washed up is plain stupid. Win something first jackass meat!

There are 8 other teams besides us playing in A this fall, and from what I have seen, they are all pretty darn good and are all capable of beating each other on any given night. To say any of them is washed up is ridiculous, as most of them are in the top 10 of the over 50 some teams who play in the IFFL or Fairfax County leagues.

I have seen anonymous posters bash us (which is probably justified), Novas, Larrys, Lions, Lazy, etc. but I have doubts their teams have ever beat these guys.

tell you what i think (and i play for my plumber so i have seen plenty of the best teams in the state), i believe that the fcffl a league can sweep the final four at states this year. sharks, mp, lions, lazy, kerns, novas, just about any team in the a league is capable of a run at states. lets all go down to richmond in december and represent. playing in the league this fall is gonna get all of us prepped to do the damn thing. remember, you represent yourself and your team first and foremost, but when we go to states we are ALL repping northern va, so lets serve notice in december......and good luck to EVERY team in the league between now and then.

it looks like we are going to be healthy for the rest of the season. we have been hurting these first couple of weeks, but it is funny how one or two people can really make a change in a team. lets see what we can do, now that we have all of our chess pieces back on the board.

so you are telling me that 1 or 2 playas for will really change a whole team? give me a break! the Lions offense is just sh!t. the Lions aren`t even going to make the playoffs

hmmm....

Well, if the Lions ARE getting back 1 or 2 guys then it probably WILL make a big difference. Since only 8 people play that`s 25% of their team.

Not that I`d expect whoever posted that to grasp large numbers...

i would have to agree with the last post. But i do have to say that the league overall is going to do well at states. An i think the Sharks, Lions and NOVAs could all win states as well. But the front runners would have to be MyPlumber and Kerns.

I just wanted to get in on the sentiment that we should all go down to states and represent N. VA. From what I`ve seen in this league and what I`ve seen in states, BY FAR, we (being N. VA) have the most talent ... BY FAR. Although I have to admit, My Plumber didn`t represent last year ... we played competitively in Nationals and then a week later, took an L from a team that would play E league up here, no bull. Not going to go through my many excuses, we just lost for whatever reason.

Good luck down there fellas.
