subject: "I screwed up the B+ brackets"

It was brought to my attn that Rejects (and not Signal) should be the #5 seed in that division. This is accurate based on the PD in the games played between those 3 teams (Bad Boyz, Signal, Rejects).

Therefore, Rejects will play Diesel and should have first choice of game slot and they take 9:50 WED. This displaced Storm, who would have the next choice so they cannot play MON and take 8:40 WED. This displaces Signal (now playing Spalding) who must now choose between 7:00 TUE at PT#2 or 7:30 MON at LFF#4.

I am waiting on their reply and will update the schedule when I get it.

Yes, teams should be ranked 1-8, not 5-8. I can`t rank the top half one way and the bottom half another way.

Anyhow, it all worked out - correct schedule and brackets are now up.

Tom:
I will state my case for public scrutiny: Rejects are not the higher seed! At least according to your rule as follows:
Step One:
1-4 from each division go to "A" playoffs where in top bracket is 1E v 4W, 2W v 3E...bottom bracket is 1W v 4E, 2E v 3W.

Step Two:
5-8 from each division go to "B+" playoff, same format as above, 5E v 8W...."

There are two separate but distinct steps.

Step One: Separate A teams from B+ teams

Step Two: Seed teams
Since BadBoyz are NOT in the B+ division they cannot be included in the seeding formula. The only way there is a "three way tie" is if BadBoyz had not made the cut to A but instead were included in the B+ division. Reading the rule there are two very separate acts; 1. decide which teams play in A and which teams play in B+ then 2. after the divisions have been separated complete the seeding for each division.

This is not a seeding for A and B+, it is separate seeding for A and another seeding for B+.

that`s irrational

the only way bad boyz got that A seed is because of the 3 way tie seeding rules. you can`t seed them into A one way and then seed you guys and Rejects according to a different set of parameters. it`s open league and every team is ranked 1-8 at the end of the season for a reason. i understand what you`re trying to say, and you can make a case for it like you have, but in the end, it`s been in plain sight that brackets are divisions are formed AFTER seeding has been established.

You need to understand the difference between seeding and separating brackets. Seeding is what is done after you decide the division.

now you`re just making up rules. nowhere does it say that seeding is done after you decide the division. it`s unfortunate for you guys, but that`s the way it is, the way it has been, and if it`s bs, then vote to change it next season. ultimately, this season`s playoffs is/was up to tom`s discretion as commissioner, and i`m sure he`ll use this as a precedent for future seasons to come.

I guess you need to be informed that all rules are made up, rules don`t just exist. So in your fantasy world when the divisions (look up that word) are selected before a season, to you, that is seeding. This shows your ignorance of how teams are separated into divisions. That is not seeding, we might as well group East and West and B and then decide who plays whom.

that`s irrational

okay look. ignorance of what exactly? answer this, the teams are separated into divisions based on what?

teams are grouped into an open division, and then what, may i ask, causes them to magically shift into A and B+ divisions for the playoffs? we didn`t arbitrarily choose for the Bad Boyz to show up in A, they had to be seeded at #4 before they were put in A, above the Rejects and Signal. There was a system for that, with clearly stated rules saying that avPD would determine ranking in case of a 3 way tie. There is nothing there that mentions that after the last spot for A playoffs goes to a team that was a part of a 3 way tie, that we just forget about the original seeding constraints. Am I saying this is right? No, I`m not, it`s a **** up in the system, and I hope it`s changed in the future, just like how real **** ups happen in real sports and how it takes a while for people to change them.
