I can`t continue to live like this. I don`t know whether to call a credit counseling agency or a gambling addiction treatment center. Ok, give me a dime on Union, Signal and Greyhounds to cover. I`m going to have to hear it from my peeps on the Rejects on Sunday. Fellas this is business and not personal and you see what I`m up against.

YTD 9-5 +600

Rejects +4 - dime - Really tough spot here for a GH team that has squeaked by all season coming up against a desperate Rejects team looking for a playoff bid (with some help from Signal). Lots of speed and athleticism should give the Hounds fits, who aren`t playing for anything tonight as they crush Union in the point differential category.

Novacaine +7.5 - nickel - NOVAs have the experience on their side in this game, but Novacaine has shown that they are game all year and should fight like hell to get that last playoff spot against a team they are quicker than. I`m not sure if they`re ready to win this type of game just yet, but I think they can keep it close enough to cover this spread.

Hokies +15 - nickel - 15 points? Don`t get me wrong, I`m one of the few on here that thinks the Sharks are still a championship caliber team, but they have only won 1 game this year by more than 14 points. I`ll take a Hokie team desperate for a playoff bid and getting 15.

Let`s get to business before the NBA pregame. Sager`s still deciding which obnoxious jacket to wear tonite. I think he should be more concerned with which hairpiece to pick but I don`t want to go there with my boy Marv hanging around. These are lean times in the Barkley Betting Bonanza. I`m down 700 and fading faster than the Cavs-Lakers dream Final. But there`s a rainbow on the other side of this storm and it`s in the hungry hands of Signal and the Novas. Sig`s cruising so I`ll give the 2 TD`s to the Tites--and the Novas are getting no respect after last weeks butt whomping so I`m looking for a bounce back and giving the points. 300 on Signal and Novas Sheri-Smirkey. I`ll double down on Wed games after I lose tonight. Quiz--who`s in worse shape?????...Locs bank account or the Cav`s bench? Ernie?

Just give the damn ball to O-Hyped Bum and get out of the way. Give me 500 on the Sharks laying the points. LeBron`s tired, I`m broke, and

it was a pretty good game. hokies scored on the opening drive. sharks answered right back. hokies played catch up the rest of the way. they could not pull a flag if their life depended on it. lots of long tds for the sharks. Hokies qb did pretty well despite all the pressure the sharks put on him. hes pretty good.

Overhyped bum had 2tds, and 2 other Wr had the other 2 tds. We didnt run much wildcat last night because we scored on alot of big plays or should i say missed flag pulls. We woulda covered the spread we was up 31-14 and the Hokies ran back the kick and we got the to like the 20 and time ran out. We tired to punch it in for you Barkley but Time caught up to us just like weight has crept up on you.

Hey "wow"--Cheese threw down on you with that tiebreaker explanation just like Odom did on the Nugs last night. Don`t bring that weak stuff in here. And my weight`s not the only thing creeping up on me. This growing financial burden is the weight I`m worried about thanks to you non-covering A-Leaguers that now includes just about every team except the Mags, TC, and the Union. Whoaaa, wait a minute. Did you say "imaginary" debt???? Gimme 300 on the Union tonight. Ernie?

LMAO! "becuase Overhyped Bum does everything for him" that has got to be one of the dumbest statements I’ve heard in awhile. This has got to be from either a player that plays on team that does not compete for titles or if you are on a team that competes for titles (which I doubt) you are definitely not a difference maker at all on the team. You obviously don’t know anything about the sport. I had to speak on this one because I had this conversation Tuesday night during my game. Many novice teams think that the difference between A league and C league are the wide receiver play. “My receivers are faster.” If I had stack for every thread posted a year about who’s the best receivers in the league, I would buy this league its own stadium. (If you are a receiver you may want to leave this thread now. You may not like this) Receivers are 4rd on the totem pole of a team’s success. The Overhyped Bum in my opinion is the best receiver in the league. But forget my opinion. Let me give you a scenario, if you put the league’s best receiver on the worst team or the league’s best QB on the worst team which one will make the biggest difference? Of course the QB. Let me break down the pecking order for the football illiterate and I’ll back this up with facts. A team’s success (just from a position standpoint)breaks down like this 1. The QB 2. DE – The Rusher 3. OL – The QB’s muscle 4. WR- The highlight film and LBs and Corners are up for grabs.

A team’s success is predicated on the play of the QB (1st). He controls the clock, field position and turnovers based on his execution. Not a lot to debate here. A good rusher (2nd) can make your entire defense better. A good rusher turns a mediocre corner into a good corner and a good corner into a great corner. His creation of double teams can turn other average rushers into good rushers. His effective rush can eliminate the effectiveness of a QB. Most teams that step up find that they can’t handle the rush. If you can’t handle the rush, you’re QB can’t get it to your 4.3 receiver (If I had another stack for the amount of times I’ve heard that 4.3 reference, this league would have its own cable network). How do you stop a game-changing receiver? (Illiterate answer: put a shutdown corner on him.) Nope. Stop his QB. I haven’t met a QB yet that can effectively throw with one flag missing. How do you stop the rush? With a good Oline. Teams with good Olines (3rd) will always be successful in this league. And then 4th is the Wide receivers. They get all the pub.We like to see the big catch and big moves in all but I haven’t met a receiver that can throw to himself. LBs, Corners, RB are all important as well especially if you have a standout one but not nearly at the top of the food chain. If you don’t believe me look at the NFL’s franchise tag salary. The QB is first, DEs second followed by the OL. This has concluded my Flag Football 101 lesson for today. Next up is a post on the greatest teams to ever play in our leagues, Sunday and Weeknight. My research staff has almost completed their findings.

LOCS-

It was a joke. You didn`t need to write an entire essay on the importance of position groups in flag football. I agree somewhat with your positional group hierchy, but I think a game-changing WR can make alot of QBs look good, and can arguebly be more valuable than a good QB. Not even going at Govt Cheese on this one, he`s good. But Overhyped Bum certainly ups his TD total no?

However, I really did enjoy reading it. It`s tough to make it until 5:00 somedays but this got me there today.

See how average teams become good or great when they upgrade their QB. For example, look at the Dietze QB for example. He has joined several average teams (outlaws) and made them instant contenders. I believe he played for rejects this year and when they lost him due to injury I don`t think they have won a game since.

I agree with you on players making other players better.... The most important person on the field or on the team is coach/player coach... I`ve seen a few teams with a lot of talent at every position but don`t win games. Winning is everything. My point is that it takes a leader/captain/coach or what ever he is to take control and know how to use the talent he has with the team. Great players or not you can`t win if there`s no chemistry. example "2007-08 COWBOYS"
