Welcome to Week #6. Hopefully the weekend gave everyone enough time to cool off after last week`s heated discussions. Let`s have a great week of football as the playoff picture starts to develop. Some recap on last week`s games:

In the National Division we saw S&S take care of the Wolverines as they continue their undefeated season and earn an early playoff spot. After getting of to a good start, Wolverines find themselves in the 5th and final playoff spot with Vienna Inn and Banditos creeping up. Banditos won a crucial game over Vienna Inn and it will be interesting to see how that affects the playoff picture in these final 3 weeks. Congratulations to entourage for picking up their first victory of the season, over Webb Construction. Webb lost only their 2nd game of the season it what appeared to be a close game. They still hold possession of the 3rd playoff spot. Helltown played a tough Potomac team that seems to play well, but not do quite enough to come up on the winning end. Punishers took care of entourage to take possession of the 4th playoff spot. Magnums lost a close one to Webb Construction as their playoff hopes start to fade.

In the American Division we saw some close games (and as you`ll see from my weekly record, games I had trouble predicting correctly). Invequity held on against Five Year Plan and remained undefeated on the season. If they can get a victory this week, that should secure a playoff spot. Spalding took care of Gray Hounds as they hold onto the 2nd playoff spot. Congratulations to Chuds on their first victory of the season as they roughed up Gray Matter. In what seems to be heating up as one of the top rivalries in the American Division, Gray Hounds defeated MAC Daddies and knocked MAC Daddies into the 6th spot and currently out of the playoff seeds. MAC Daddies were able to bounce back with an Overtime victory over Big Pimpin. Gang Green played a tight game with Titans. As we head into Week #6 we see 4 teams that are tied with a 4-2 record.

I was 5-1 in the National Division, but struggled in the American Division with a 3-3 record last week. That puts me at 8-4 for the week and 43-15 on the season. Here`s how I see things shaping up for Week #6:

National Division:
Helltown Rosebuds 17 Vienna Inn 14
S&S 24 Webb Construction 7 (National Division Game of the Week)
Potomac 9 Entourage 7 (The winner of this game tries to keep their playoff hopes alive)
Magnums 14 Banditos 13 (again, 2 teams trying to keep their playoff hopes alive)
Wolverines 7 Punishers 6 (this may be the best game of the week to watch. This may be a preview of the Play-in game when we hit the playoffs)

American Division:
Invequity 13 Big Pimpin 7
Spalding 21 Titans 17 (American Division Game of the Week)
Gang Green 14 MAC Daddies 10 (Gang Green`s #1 ranked defense against a good MAC Daddies offense. Should be a great game to watch)
Gray Hounds 20 Chuds 0 (Gray Hounds #1 ranked offense shows up in this one)
Five Year Plan 14 Gray Matter 0

Let`s have some great games this week, and things should get real interesting as we get geared for the playoffs. Good Luck to all the teams out there.

Discussion?

The Chuds finally breakout last week with 21 points shutting out Gray Matter (a prediction you were dead wrong on, by the way) and you still dont have them scoring a point in your latest predictions?

Wise up, Swami. This kind of thinking IS why you went 3-3 in the American Division last week.

Keep in mind dude, that Gray Matter also hasn`t scored a point all season. You beat up on the worst team in the league.

Yeah, but Swami had that "worst team in the league" shutting out the Chuds in his predictions last week.

Turns out the Chuds dominated them 21 - 0. Which is a worse whippin` than some other notable teams have had over them.

That being said, I think the Hounds will beat the Chuds pretty soundly on Wednesday night. My guess is 28 - 7.

cant score

Potomac can`t get in the endzone. They were up 10-7 on S&S with 10 seconds to play. S&S threw a 55 yard bomb to go up 14-10 (a bomb on the last play was INT. and returned for a TD). They were down 3-0 to Vienna Inn and actually were inside Vienna Inns 10yd line three times, missed an FG, had an FG blocked and couldn`t put it in on 4 straight plays. They failed to convert on 4 and 1 with a minute left in the game (Vienna Inn scored with no time on the clock). Potomac was inside Helltowns 20 yd line twice and penalties/bad snaps cost them points.

Excuses are like ****s...i know i know

Yes I play for Potomac.

The Chuds defense looked fantastic last night manhandling the once mighty offense of the Grey Hounds.

If only the Chuds could score, they`d be a team to reckon with.

For the record, Swami was way off on this prediction. He said that that the Hounds offense "would show up for this one".

Well, it might have showed up, but the Chuds Defense showed it the door pretty quickly.

Chuds,

You are a team that has won 1 game (against the worst team in the league). Talk is cheap. Nobody here cares how great you think you are. Win some more games, then come on here and talk about how great you are. If only you could score, blah blah blah. You`re drunk. Come back when you`re sober. Who cares how off the Swami was in his predictions. He picked you to lose. No matter how pretty you think you looked out there, you lost. Come back on the message board, next season. Enjoy watching us in the playoffs. I bet your defense looks fantastic on your couchs while we are out winning championships.

Chuds,

I take back what I said earlier. After thinking things over I realized how foolish I came across in my last post. I`m not the brightest guy in the world, so cut me some slack. Sure, you guys only have one win (still against the worst team in the league), but the way you took it to the overrated Grey Hounds last night was a thing of beauty. After all, if THAT was the the best offense in the league, there should be an investigation.

Anyway, The Swami had you guys losing 21-0 in his predictions, yet you guys showed incredible heart in a one touchdown loss.

I am the one who was drunk last night for making such stoopid remarks, and honestly, I appologize for that. Come to think of it, the entire Grey Hounds team played like they were drunk last night, and they are probably the ones who should really be appologizing.

Thanks for hearing me out again, and by the way, I was just kidding about us "... winning championships..." I mean, Christ, you saw us play last night first hand. Did that look like a championship team? We beat a 1-5 team 8 - 0.

The only thing I think we`ll be winning this year is the award for the most whiners on one team. God knows there`s enough of them to go around. Maybe next year we`ll change our name from Grey Hounds to the Booze Hounds. At least that`ll reflect our pathetic and uncoordinated style of play.

Later.

Again, enjoy watching us in the playoffs. Who cares how close you played us if you still came up on the losing end. All that matters are W`s and L`s. You don`t get any consolation prize for losing a close game. You can come on here and try and make yourself feel better by telling everyone how close you played us. Fact is, nobody cares. Keep patting yourself on the back for showing heart. Again, nobody cares. If your defense was so great, you would`ve stopped us from scoring. But, how I remember things, we scored, you didn`t, we won, you didn`t. Face facts

Nobody cares???

By the looks of the last several posts, it looks like someone on the Grey Hounds not only cares, but is pretty bothered by their lackluster win last night.

"Booze Hounds" ... thats pretty funny.

I`m the first to admit that we had a lackluster win. No excuses for that. But, just think, we had a bad night and you still couldn`t beat us.

Took it to us? The Chuds had maybe, MAYBE, 4 first downs the entire game. We shot ourselves in the foot with 4 turnovers (2 INTs, 2 failed 4th downs) in the RED ZONE. We moved the ball down the field with ease and didn`t execute at the goal line. To your credit, you played great defense in the Red Zone, and shut us down there. You bent but didn`t break, which is commendable. But took it to us??? Give me a break!

You Hounds need to relax. Someone NOT from our team is obviously having fun bothering you guys.

It was a hard fought game. You guys are a good team, and even though we don`t like losing, we are somewhat proud that we only allowed 8 points to a good team known for its offense.

Yes, you guys will be in the playoffs, and we won`t. Again, congrats.

We`ve been together barely 3 weeks, and I`m willing to wager you guys have been together a little longer than that. Everyweek is a learning experience for us and we`re getting better and better every time out. I look forward to the rematch next season.

Cheers and good luck in the playoffs.

This message board is the stupidest idea ever. Everyone in hear talks about their team like they play on sundays. Quit the fluffing and the hating, and just shut your mouths and play the games like the bunch of hasbeens and neverweres you are. It`s flag football dorks, gain some perspective.
