 subject: "Week #7 B League Picks "

I apologize for the extremely late post this week. That wonderful holiday we call "Columbus Day" threw me off. Then when the B League National Division games were postponed yesterday, I decided to be a little more lazy. Right now the forecast says things may clear up tomorrow. Hopefully the fields will be in a good enough condition for the American Division teams to play.

Last week I was a dismal 2-3 in the National Division losing the Webb/S&S game, Magnums/Banditos game, and the Helltown/Vienna Inn game. I bounced back in the American Division going 4-1, losing only the Gang Green/MAC Daddies forfeit game. That put me at 6-4 for the week and now 49-19 on the season.

Let`s take a look at both divisions as we head into the last 2 games of the season, and then we`ll take a look at my picks for the American Division.

National Division Outlook

1. S&S- They suffered their first defeat last week in an upset against Webb Construction. They have already clinched a playoff spot and are now fighting for the division title. The much anticipated game against Helltown will now be scheduled for the final game of the season and should be a great one.

2. Helltown-They also suffered their first loss last week to Vienna Inn in a close battle. A victory next week over Punishers will clinch a playoff spot and setup a great regular season finale against S&S.

3. Webb Construction-A huge victory over S&S last week put them in prime position to clinch a playoff spot. They will face Wolverines and Vienna Inn in their last 2 games. 1 win and they are in the playoffs.

4. Wolverines-An interesting season for them with 2 ties (to helltown and Vienna Inn) and 2 losses (to S&S and Potomac), they had a huge lopsided victory last week over Punishers. They have a tough game next week against Webb and finish up against Entourage.

5. Punishers-After starting the season 3-0, they have lost 3 out of their last 4 games. Can they bounce back after a big loss to Wolverines last week? They have 2 tough games against Helltown and Banditos.

6. Vienna Inn-Currently on the outside looking in. They kept their playoff hopes alive last week with a victory over Helltown. Their best chance is to win these last 2 games (vs. Magnums and Webb)and hope for either a Punishers or Wolverines loss.

7. Banditos-They are still alive, but must win their final 2 games and need Vienna Inn to lose 1 game to get in.

8. Potomac-Are mathematically alive, but it would take a miracle. They finish up against Banditos and Magnums.

9. Magnums-Were eliminated in a loss last week to Banditos. They are a young team that lost some close games early on.

10. Entourage-Were a new team that maybe should have played in C League to gain some confidence and experience. They have gotten better as the season went on and will look to play spoiler in these last 2 weeks.

American Division Outlook

1. Invequity-They don`t win pretty, but the key is, they find ways to win. They remain the only undefeated team left in the league after a 3-0 win over Big Pimpin last week. They have a huge game against Spalding this week which may decide the division title before finishing up against Chuds.

2. Spalding-A very strong team that has 1 loss on the season to MAC Daddies. They have a big matchup with Invequity this week and finish up against Gray Matter. They need 1 win to secure a playoff spot and can still clinch the division.

3. MAC Daddies-Probably one of the most hated on teams this year in the B Division, but they have found ways to win. It doesn`t matter how you win, they key is to get the W. They have 2 losses on the season (vs. Gray hounds and Invequity). They can control their own destiny with games agains Five Year Plan and Titans.

4. Gray Hounds-Another team with only 2 losses (to Spalding and Invequity) with a key win over MAC Daddies. They will have a tough final two weeks with games against Titans and Gang Green.

5. Titans-Currently are in control of the final playoff spot, but have lost 2 very close games in a row to Gang Green and Spalding. They will also have a tough final two games against Gray Hounds and MAC Daddies. Even if they win these final 2 games they may have to look to the point differential to get into the playoffs if Gang Green also wins their final 2 games.

6. Gang Green-They are on the outside looking in. A tough forfeit last week to MAC Daddies could prove big for the playoff hopes. They have Gray Matter this week before finishing up against Gray Hounds.

7. Five Year Plan-Are Mathematically alive and would need to win their final two games and need Gang Green and Titans to lose their final 2 games. Even with that happening, they need a major change in the point differential.

8. Big Pimpin-Were eliminated last week in a close loss to Invequity. They have played some real close games all year and are probably the best 1 win team out there.

9. Chuds-Were also eliminated from the playoffs. They were new this year, but did a great job of improving as the season went on. They picked up their first victory against Gray Matter and then played a close game with Gray Hounds.

10. Gray Matter-Have had a tough season thus far in the wins column. They did score their first TD of the season last week against Five Year Plan. Another team that probably would`ve faired better in the C League, but hats off to them for coming out every week and playing hard.

Hey Swami. Invequity owes you a game ball. Thanks to your picking Invequity to lose, the team got all fired up and played their best game of the year.

Swami, the Chuds want to thank you for taking notice

that we are a team on the rise. We appreciate your kind

words. Yes, this has been our first season, and

although we started off pretty slow, we have now won 2

of our last 3.

We have to play InEquity next week, so hopefully we

can keep showing improvement against such a quality

team.

Hey Chuds, it`s easy to consider yourself a team on the rise when you`re playing fellow bottom of the barrell teams. Beat someone good instead of one legged midgets and then you can talk. I take it "Chuds" is a combination of the words "chumps" and "duds".

It`s no use hating on a bunch of chuds that enjoy playing the game. We came in with one goal, and that was to be competitive. As the season has progressed, I think it`s obvious we`re beginning to at the very least achieve that goal.

Anyway, thanks for the reality check douchebag.

Actually, it was the Swami (in a post on this thread) who

noticed that the Chuds have improved as the season

has gone on.

In an earlier post, a spokesman from the Chuds was

simply acknowledging Swami`s insiteful comments.

The funny thing is about this league is that there are

two 1-win teams and two 2-win teams.

So that means any team that has 4 or more wins, got

those wins from playing "one legged teams." I guess

that means that most of the teams in this league really

arent that good because most wins have come against

Chud-like teams with only one or two wins.

It was a last minute thing to join, even though we had

been talking about it for years. Also, we thought we

were talenmted enough to come in and compete for the

playoffs right away. It didnt work out that way, but its

been a fun learning experience, and we look forward to

riding our late season momentum into next season.

Look guys, despite some of our posts, we know we aren`t that good. We are just trying to have a little fun. We recognize one of our wins was against a short handed team, who by the way compensated admirably and didn`t even make any excuses about not fielding a full team afterward. Bottom line is we just enjoy the opportunity to play. Thanks to the league

BTW - CHUD is a bite from an old 1984 movie by the same name it stands for Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dwellers. Quite the flick if you like ****ty horror movies.

Chuds,

Don`t pay any mind to this idle chatter. Keep your team

together and you will get better. It just takes time and

dedication. We have played in the C league for a

couple of seasons and made the move to B this year.

Sorry the other half of our team wasn`t there to play you

on Wednesday. It would have made for a better game.

See you all next season.
