Well we are back for week #8 and it looks like we`re in for some good weather this week which means we should be able to have both divisions on the field. Just a quick recap on last week`s American Division Action:

Titans were able to win a decisive game over Gray Hounds 24-3, a game which may prove vital in securing a playoff spot for Titans and currently bumped Gray Hounds into the 6th spot. Gang Green bounced back from their forfeit to MAC Daddies and defeated Gray Matter 14-0, setting up a crucial game this week between Gang Green and Gray Hounds. The winner will advance to the playoffs and the loser will hope for a loss by the Titans against MAC Daddies. If the Titans lose then it will come down to point differential between Titans and the loser of the Gang Green/Gray Hounds game to see who makes the playoffs. The Chuds pulled off their second victory of the season, this time over Big Pimpin. 2 wins aren`t bad for a first year team. MAC Daddies won big over Five Year Plan and locked in a playoff spot. The game of the week was between Invequity and Spalding, and Invequity took care of business as they clinched the division title. Even with the loss, Spalding was able to clinch a spot in the playoffs. Last week I went 3-2 (losing the chuds game and the invequity game), putting me at 52-21 on the season. Here is how I see the games going for Week #8:

National Division:

S&S 22 Entourage 0 (look for S&S to bounce back after a loss in their last game against Webb)
Webb 17 Wolverines 13 (National Division Game of the Week - a big game here as both teams try and clinch a playoff spot. Should be a great battle)
Helltown 21 Punishers 7 (Helltown tries to bounce back after their first loss of the season. Punishers try to regroup after dropping 3 of their last 4 games. Both teams are fighting for the playoffs)
Vienna Inn 13 Magnums 10 (Magnums try and play spoiler against vienna inn. Vienna inn is on the outside of the playoff picture looking in, but have a great chance to sneak in.)
Banditos 17 Potomac 14 (Banditos still have playoff hopes alive, while Potomac is realistically out of the picture. Another game that should be a battle)

American Division:

Five Year Plan 10 Big Pimpin 7
Invequity 17 Chuds 7
MAC Daddies 14 Titans 7
Spalding 28 Gray Matter 0
Gang Green 21 Gray Hounds 20 (American Division Game of the Week)

This should be a great week of football as the American Division comes to a close on their regular season and the National Divison playoff picture comes into focus with 2 games remaining. I`m sure there are a few teams out there that are hoping for a rainout either this week or next week so that 16 teams make the playoffs instead of the current 10 team format. Don`t expect rain this week though. Good luck to all the teams out there.
