We received a protest last week regarding a team being assessed a forfeit for using an illegal/ineligible player.

Without laying out all the conversations with commissioners before and after the game, events, issues involved and points of contention...the team filing the protest does have some basis for protest.

The three commissioners could not reach a consensus on whether or not the game should be replayed, so the game result stands; however, and as a compromise and resolution to this specific case, the FCFFL has elected to expand the B playoffs to six teams per division.

If B league games for Tuesday, October 25 are rained out we will not reschedule those games, but will take eight teams per division.

;	Shoot might as well take all 10 teams from each division to the playoffs if we get rained out on Tuesday. All teams in this league paid the same fee to play 9 games. If Tuesday gets rained out and you only take 8 teams from each division then you get 2 teams who get screwed out of playing their 9th game.

Right now, the forecast looks rainy for the weekend, but okay for next week. --------------------------------------------- "whats the point of playing the regular season then" If you are referring to us possibly taking 16 teams in due to a Tuesday rainout - that B Division is already a week behind, and we don`t want the other B division teams sitting out over two (maybe three) weeks before a playoff game. If you are referring to us taking 6 teams in each division - the reschedule of the forfeit game (alternative) would essentially be a play-in game regardless. The only difference is that the 3rd place team does not get a first round bye, but we`d rather do that than leave one of the two teams affected railroaded out of the playoffs. Even with 6 teams from each division, B League is still the hardest league to make the playoffs.

;	as everything in this league can you not make a clear call on something the consistancy of the way things are handled are rediculous. It was clearly stated that you will be awarded a forfeit for using an illegal/ineligible player. Why would there be an exception made for any one particular team?

Again, without getting too much into the particulars: the player was in fact rostered to play on the team which took the forfeit - but there was no way for the officials to know that at the time. When you play on a team you are not rostered to play on, that team is assessed a forfeit loss. We don`t make arbitrary decisions on protests. We do try to decide them as fairly as possible. In this case we thought it would be unfair to the team who got the forfeit win to have to that win removed, and to have to field their team again for another game, especially since the officials at the field could only make a call based on the information they had. At the same time, we also thought it was unfair for a team to have missed the playoffs due to a forfeit loss assessed against them when they were not fielding an ineligible player.

;	to be honest, I don`t care about the eligibility of a player, forfeit or any of that. My team`s record sucks and I just want a chance at the playoffs (since they may take the other 8 teams in my division why not take us too)!!! That`s what I like about the spring league, every team gets a chance to have a playoff run. Can ya help a brotha out? Sorry to add to the whining, Sef. Hahaha. At least I`m not whining about somebody elses team. Just my own crappy team.

;	Tom, in the playoff bracket for B you have the 5A vs. 4N and 5N vs.4A as sort of a play in game. But you took 6 teams from one conference and 4 from the other so how will that work out?
